Hold the saddle in a vertical position so the cantle is pointing towards the ground and the seat of the saddle is facing towards you. Keeping the saddle in this position place the saddle between yourself and the edge of a table or bench. This provides you with leverage and easy access to the head of the saddle.

1. | Unscrew the two screws located under the skirts in the head of the saddle (picture 1a), or for some models, the screw located at the top of the chamber. Alternatively, some models are fitted with a stainless steel falldown fitting (dee ring) that unscrews for easier access (picture 1b).

2. | Pull away the velcro closure in the head of the saddle and pull the panel down from the point pockets freeing the front half of the panel. |

3. | Remove the two screws at each end of the gullet plate. |

4. | Apply more LOCTITE 243 to removed screws or alternatively use new gullet kit screws. Fit new gullet by only starting each screw until the gullet is lined up then fully tighten both screws. |

5. | Re-fit the panel in the point pockets. |

6. | Re-screw the head of the saddle and close velcro fastening. Do not over-tighten head screws. A firm pressure is all that's needed.
